Ledgerwoods on a Roll is a husband and wife ran photography business by Dean and Marlena Ledgerwood.
Dean's interest in photography started over 20 years ago while in high school. Dean was the top photographer in his early years. His darkroom work included black and white and color processing for 35mm and medium format film. Dean's high school interest in photography continued onto college while studying at University of California Santa Cruz. In 2002, Dean obtained his Bachelors in Arts Degree in Art, emphasizing in photography and a Bachelors in Science Degree in Earth Sciences .
Initially a slow adaptor to digital medium, Dean's focus in college was large format landscape photography working with 4x5 inch negatives. After college Dean pursued a career as an Engineering Geologist. As a hobbyist, Dean continued working in film and operated with small home darkroom till around 2008.
Starting in 2010, Dean started working with digital photography. As technology had advanced, Dean found the same processes he enjoyed in the darkroom translated to digital medium using modern photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop. Since 2010, Dean has continued to sharpen his skills in portrait photography producing several Pin Up photography series under the name Curvy Vixen Photography. Curvy Vixen Photography has evolved beyond just pin ups and boudoir photography, to include family photography, youth sports, etc.
Ledgerwoods on a Roll was founded in 2016. Dean's philosophy is that photography captures that minute millisecond in time. A moment that tells a story of who we are and who we want to be. Photography has a way of revealing past, present, and future. What is your story?
